I’ve been on all the apps, bar Raya (I was never accepted 🥺). I had the most fun on feeld - and you’ve just inspired me to write about my experience on that platform. Essentially I agree with you, they’ve become unworkable, ruined by their own success, intent on keeping users by withholding or promising
I hear so many great things about Feeld! I actually interviewed their team last year and it was so fun! If you ever fancy writing that piece for Brown Bodies 👀👀
Super interesting! I got "accepted" to Raya but couldn't justify spending $20+/month to be further disappointed by men on apps.
My suggestions:
- You should def try Thursday events - they're lots of fun!
- Timeleft is NOT a dating app, although men try to use it that way, and it ruins everyone's vibe.
- Feeld can be fun too, but apparently it's gotten "worse" since many ~mainstream~ dating app users (i.e. from Hinge/Bumble) have started using it, instead of the initial target demographic, which was more kink-focused.
Is there not an Aunties.com out there? It could give these apps a serious run for their money.
I think that’s called Shaadi.com

I’m not sure I’m talented enough for that
This was so interesting to read!
Ahhh thank you so much, and thank you for reading! 🧡
